Lydia Meehan works predominantly between Cardiff and Oxford. Her work takes two separate but interlinking paths, through both an individual and collaborative practice. Within both of these approaches are overarching points of reference and a key interest in the role of the artist.
Lydia’s individual work has been rooted in uncovering stories through objects or products from the past, taking many forms such as writing, collage, video and installation.
She also collaborates with designer, James Maxwell. Their shared interest in the connections and boundaries between art, design and architecture have led to This is Not a Library – a project which investigates the role of the g39 library, in the context of g39 as an artist-led organisation.
