Two Day Drawing Workshop

18 April - 19 April

Natural history

Drawing development, in and away from the studio

This exciting two-day workshop led by artist Cally Shadbolt will provide an opportunity to refresh and develop approaches to drawing from observation.

Aimed at those with intermediate drawing skills or artists with an established practice, these sessions will take you out of the comfort of your studio, offering the chance to break with routine. On the first day the group will work on location at the University of Oxford Museums, drawing directly from the fascinating range of natural and historical objects on display. The second day will take place at OVADA, where participants will develop ideas from the previous day, with a focus on personal projects. The studio stage will adopt a flexible approach, where mediums other than drawing can be introduced. Both days will include individual and group discussion on strategies for development along with constructive appraisal.

Times: Day 1 (10.15am-3.15pm) / Day 2 (10am-3pm)

Cost: £100 (£80 for OVADA Associates)

Booking in advance is essential. For further information or to reserve a place please contact: classes@ovada.org.uk

Please note: the classes are normally held in our first floor learning space, accessed via stairs only. If this would prevent you from attending, please contact us in advance so that we can discuss individual requirements.
