'Empty Days'... lost individuals & lonely corners

A new exhibition of over sixty photographs by Paddy Summerfield, the well known Oxford photographer, can be seen at OVADA during September.

Born in Derby in 1947 and trained at Guildford School of Art in Photography and Film Making Summerfield has subsequently made Oxford his home and his source material - "I have devoted my life to photography, exhibiting and publishing work as well as teaching and making commercial pictures".

Empty Days is a new exhibition created from photographs Summerfield has taken over the last thirty years. Renowned in Oxford and beyond for his iconographic images of the students and dreaming spires of the City, this collection presents a counterpoint to those familiar scenes - a world of lost individuals and lonely corners that build up the illusion of a narrative.

This exhibition is part of Emergence a new season of
Visual arts events at OVADA and included in Evolving
City a programme of exciting cultural activity in Oxford.
