As a multi-disciplinary artist, I am inspired by spaces and structures within the built environment, whether inhabited or abandoned. I am interested in the physiognomy of buildings, viewing them as an object as well as considering their identity and the impact they have on the space they inhabit.

My mixed-media spatial constructions, digital drawings and photography explore the complexities of and contrasts between surface, line, colour and light. Corners of buildings hold a particular fascination.

Research into concrete structures in the UK and the Netherlands inspire my current practice. My most recent work has been made in response to Building A, a 1920’s built former broadcasting station in Radio Kootwijk, the Netherlands, which transmitted to the Dutch East Indies.

I also enjoy being part of a worldwide community of artists on Twitter. This has led to collaborations between other artists and myself, @brown_wills
