WINTER ARTIST RESIDENCY

We are offering a one-month self-funded residency at OVADA, taking place from Friday 20 November to Friday 18 December November 2026. Artists from Oxfordshire at all career stages are invited to apply.
This is an opportunity to develop your practice, explore new ideas and make use of a dedicated period of time and space for creative work. The residency fee is £350 and includes a dedicated 14 sq m studio space.We will accept joint applications from two artists and in this instance the fee would be shared.
The application deadline for the Winter Artist Residency is Sunday 27 September at 12:00 PM.

We are particularly interested in practitioners who would benefit from dedicated studio space and a sustained period of time to develop their artistic practice.
ELIGIBILITY
The residency offers a dedicated space and time to focus on your practice, alongside access to:
A central Oxford studio
24-hour access
Wi-Fi and power
Communal facilities
A community of artists working in the studios
An opportunity to connect with and be part of the exciting programme of exhibitions, events and activities taking place across the warehouse
You may have an open studio during the residency by arrangement with OVADA
FACILITIES
Artists are welcome to bring a vehicle to OVADA on the first day of the residency to transport and load materials. On-site parking is not available. If you have any accessibility requirements, please contact OVADA in advance at contact@ovada.org.uk so that we can discuss how we can best support you.
The use of heavy machinery, welding tools or loud equipment is not permitted. Practices involving solvents, aerosols or materials requiring specialist ventilation cannot be undertaken indoors.
At the end of the residency, the space must be fully vacated and all belongings removed by 5:00pm on Friday 18 December 2026. OVADA is unable to store materials, artworks or waste after the residency ends, and large items of waste must not be left behind.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
OVADA is committed to creating a kind, respectful and supportive community. All artists and team members are expected to act with thoughtfulness and respect towards one another and the shared studio environment.
All artists are expected to comply with OVADA’s Code of Conduct, Health and Safety Policy, Safeguarding Policy, Environmental Policy, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

Artists should submit an application with a link to their website and/or artist instagram account, a PDF Portfolio and a 300 (max) word statement about what they would like to gain from the residency.
