Join Voices of Iran for an evening of food and art, to unite and amplify Iranian voices

At a time when many in the Iranian diaspora are carrying deep concern for loved ones far away, we are opening a space to come together in community.

'Voices of Iran' is an evening centred on connection, culture and care. Through poetry, storytelling, art and food, we invite Iranian voices in our community to share aspects of their heritage and lived experience. These expressions of culture offer a way to gather, listen and support one another during a time that can feel heavy and uncertain.

This is not a political event. Instead, it is a space for reflection, creativity and togetherness - a reminder that culture, language, music and food can hold us when words sometimes fail.  This evening also acknowledges that the Iranian experience is part of a much larger story of diasporas around the world.

We warmly welcome people from all backgrounds to join us. Whether you come to listen, to learn, to share a meal, or simply to be present, your presence helps create a circle of solidarity and kindness.

In moments when the world can feel overwhelming, gathering through art and culture is one small but meaningful way we can care for each other.

The event will feature:

- Delicious traditional dishes, potluck style (contributions are very welcome)

- An open mic (8pm) for poetry, performance art and music

- A celebration of Iranian artists

- Interactive and collaborative art for all ages

All are welcome!

Voices of Iran will take place on Saturday 21 March 2026 6pm - 10pm

If you have any art, music, or poetry you’d like to contribute for this event, you can contact Issy or Arjan via email or instagram - Digital submissions are welcome!
